The small town of Jochberg is located in the heart of the Kitzbühel skiing and hiking area. Known primarily as a hiker's paradise in summer, Jochberg is also part of the famous Kitzbühel ski area in winter, which has repeatedly been voted the best in the world. Furthermore, due to its proximity to the city of Kitzbühel, Jochberg has established itself as a popular residential area in recent decades. But despite the manageable size of Jochberg, the idyllic place not only has a breathtaking landscape and world-famous neighbourhoods but also numerous attractions for the whole family, such as the Kupferplatte show mine and the Stephanie spring. As a result, Jochberg guarantees relaxation and fun but also adventure for big and small, young and old.

Sintersbacher waterfall

The Sintersbach waterfall not far from Jochberg is a real place of power. The moderately challenging hike there is particularly worthwhile when the snow melts in spring. Then the 85-meter-high waterfall swells enormously and becomes an imposing natural spectacle. On the way back from the waterfall, which is almost 1,300 meters high, you pass the serviced Wildalm (1,430 meters), a rustic old hut where the cowshed borders the parlor.

The SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental is one of Austria's largest and most modern ski areas, extending over seven municipalities and two federal states. The ski area is connected by six mountain railways in the Tyrolean districts of Kufstein and Kitzbühel and offers fun for the young and old. In the ski area, there is also the only natural toboggan run in the area on the Gaisberg. There the whole family can toboggan race, day or night, and enjoy one or more toboggan runs. Afterward, 70 mountain huts invite you to enjoy the region's culinary highlights and linger. Above all, the incomparable view from the mountain peaks of this ski area makes athletes' hearts beat faster.

Biking & Hiking

Jochberg and the whole area offer cyclists and hikers numerous idyllic and exciting tours that show you the beauty but also the elemental power of the Alps. On multiple paths around Jochberg, sports enthusiasts can enjoy the heavenly landscape and let their gaze wander over the surrounding mountains. A particularly popular cycle path and hiking trail among locals is the Aurach-Jochbergwald path, which has only recently been extended to the Thurn Pass. Via this high alpine pass in the Kitzbühel Alps, hikers and cyclists can use the trail connected to Pinzgau (Salzburg) to marvel at the nature and scenery of two of Austria's beautiful states.
